Youth Opportunities
Did you know that youth under the age of 18 volunteered more than 12,000 hours of time with WTA to trails last year? Whether coming out with their parents for a day or on a week-long Youth Vacation in the summer, youth are giving back to hiking trails all across the state.
We encourage kids ages 10 and up to participate. Those under 14 must be accompanied by a supervising adult and anyone under 18 must present a signed Parental Consent Form. After five work parties, volunteers earn their very own green hard hat with their name on it. Teens can earn up to eight community service hours each day.
Here is a sampling of WTA's Youth Volunteer Opportunities.

HOW YOUTH CAN VOLUNTEER

Youth-Specific Work Parties
WTA offers volunteer trail work parties exclusively for teens and for families. These one-day work parties provide a unique opportunity for young people to learn about trail maintenance and trails in their communities while meeting other young people interested in the outdoors.

Group Opportunities
For groups larger than six people, we recommend that you call the WTA office to discuss dates and locations. We do our best to accommodate groups, but do need at least two months advanced notice.
