Secure NRTP Funding

Each year, Washington state receives about $1.8 million from a little know program the National Recreation Trails Program (NRTP). This program funds critical maintenance projects by the Forest Service and non-profit volunteer organizations like Washington Trails Association keeping hundreds of miles of trail accessible and passable after winter weather and harsh storms. Unfortunately, the future of this vital program is unknown.

NRTP is funded through the Transportation budget, which has not been agreed upon by the House and Senate. Please contact Senator Murray, Chair of the Transportation Committee, and ask her to quickly pass a transportation budget that includes full funding for NRTP.
