Be an advocate for trails and wild lands

trail damage Dave Schiefelbein
The Trail Action Network lets you know when to take action for trail issues, like securing funds to repair storm damage. By Dave Schiefelbein.

Members of the Washington Trails Association and the general public are crucial to the success of our advocacy efforts. Every issue WTA engages in at both the state and federal level is supported by letters, testimony, phone calls, and e-mail messages from our members and activists, and face-to-face meetings with decision-makers. The efforts of citizen-activists support and enhance the work that the advocacy staff and volunteers do on a daily basis.

Without this critical support, Washington Trails would be much less effective in its efforts to promote the interests of hikers and the protection of wild lands. We hope you will join our action alert list serve, known as the Trail Action Network.

After you join, you will receive occasional e-mails, including:

  • Action Alerts about specific issues that affect hikers;
  • Notices about policy meetings, hearings and Town Hall events; and
  • Invites to citizen lobby days;

Each Action Alert includes a list of talking points and tips, sample text, addresses, and links to more information. Please sign up today and become a Washington Trails Association activist!

As a subscriber to the Trail Action Network, your email address will not be traded or sold. You may unsubscribe at any time.
