I like both day hiking and extended backpacking. I also like researching local history and photographing wildlife and scenic landscapes. In 1979 I worked for the City of Seattle on a nine-person initial attack fire crew stationed at Cedar Falls in the Cedar River Watershed. From 1980 through 1987 I worked seasonally for the USDA Forest Service in Darrington, before moving to Forks, where I’ve worked full time for the DNR since 1988.
