Trail enthusiasts remain on guard

Although little specific legislative information is available, winter enthusiasts, equestrians and off-road vehicle owners are preparing for an extended battle to preserve access to state-managed recreation lands.
Organizations such as the Mount Tahoma Trails Association, Backcountry Horsemen of Washington, Inc., and Washington Trails Association are especially worried that the state's Department of Natural Resources is planning to close some of their favorite trails and recreation areas.
