If you want to take a hike, this is the place to come.  WTA's website contains thousands of trip reports that detail current conditions on hikes all across Washington State.  It also includes user-generated "guidebook" descriptions and lots of suggestions about where to go hiking.

About Hikes, Trails & Access Roads

  • Hiking Guidebook:  WTA's trail guide "wiki" allows users like you to write, update and access hundreds of guidebook-style entries on your favorite hikes.
  • Trip Reports:  WTA maintains a database of thousands of trip reports submitted by Northwest hikers.  Search, Write or Browse the Freshest reports from the trail.
  • Hikes of the Week:  Each week we feature a new hike - old favorites and new ones that haven't found their way to many guidebooks.
  • Seasonal Hiking Suggestions:  Trying to find just the right hike for this weekend?  Check out great seasonal choices here.
  • Trail & Road Closures:  Huge storms in 2003 and 2006 have closed access to dozens of popular trails.  Check our Storm Damage Database before you go out (not updated for winter conditions, starting 10/15/07).
