Trail 1351 from FR 9714 to the saddle and following the ridge on trail 1364 to Peak 5489 is in good shape. Unusual for this time in the year is that there was hardly any snow on the trail, even on the ridge. We observed an unusual phenomenon that the frost heaves on frozen, sandy sections of the trail were in the shape of boot prints. How do you explain that?
