Je suis toast. Ich bin wasted. I am fried. I don't even know which language to use I am so tired.

We followed the road system from the school bus turn around on the Mt Si road. The first 1.3 miles was quite benign but the slope changed quite dramatically at the waterfall/major blow down area. There was snow around but it did not become an issue until the 2500' level or so. We donned gaiters at this switchback. The snow got progressively deeper but was well consolidated until well past the Mt Si turnoff. We put on the snow shoes at the flat area just past the open traverse section. In the past this seemed to be where many people called it a day and the trail/road just never get packed out from there onward. The mining claim cabin just below the "notch" was much the worse for wear probably from this years storms. There were nice views along the open traverse area and the notch which was the first place we could look to the north. We had set a 2 pm turn around time and it was already 1:30 by the time we got to the notch. Summit fever took over in a big way as we decided to keep going up. At 2 pm, our fixed turn around time, my GPS said we were less than .4 miles from the summit. More summit fever and we kept going up. The last quarter mile got progressively steeper and the last 100 vertical feet had two short but very steep sections. I suggested we stay away from the very tippy top since I know that summit ridge can have some really big cornices. We elected to drop off the ridge and down into the trees for lunch. The long quad-burning snow slog really fried me on the way out. (about 14 miles and 4400 net gain)

I should have waited a day to post this trip and my grammar would have been gooder.
