View of Mt Baker across Baker Lake
Found at least two dozen cars at the Baker Lake South trailhead when we arrived (Saturday noon). There was a warning posted that the Hidden Creek bridge was closed, but we didn't plan to go that far north anyway. The trail was in great shape, apart from quite a few blowdowns.

There was a procession of people with dogs and some even some people in swimming suites coming our way, at least until we reached the first campground (Anderson Point). Skipped to the second campground (Maple Grove), which turned out to be too crowded. But we found a secluded lakeside campsite with stunning views of Mt Baker (difficult to see from the trail) a bit further down the trail.

The Baker Lake area isn't the most quite place to go: Even once we got past the crowds, there was some noise from motor boats on the lake, and in the evening (until about 9 p.m.) we could hear a rock concert across the lake... But once things calm down, it's a magical place.
