Leaving the trail head at 10 a.m. the forest greeted Sue and I with joyous birdsong, to the accompanyment of water -dripping, drizzling, trickleing, babbleing, rushing, even pounding and thundering! We went in the uppper trail, out the lower trail. It had been years since I was last here and was curious to see how much more the road bed had become a trail. There were light clouds, temp. 69 degrees.
Tent up, lake visited, photo's snapped, water pumped. Thunder mumbled all around the lake basin. Not a drop of rain fell, and the thunder never seemed to make it over the ridge. The small camp are quickly filled.
Next a.m. woke to more birdsong. Gently unfolding my stiffend limbs, turn over, up on one elbow. Okay now, more unfolding and out of tent. A new day! After a visit to the water fall, we packed up and hiked out. I had forgotten how beautiful this lake was!
