- Ripe berries

- Mudholes
- Bugs
We generally hike this trail to pick huckleberries and were not disappointed. The down side is you have to hike almost to the lake before the berries are numerous enough to pick. We ended picking about 10 cups in about an hour. I must admit Top lake itself is not worth loosing elevation to see, but the amount of both blueberries and huckleberries make the hike worth it. There were a few mosquitoes, but they were outnumbered by the flies, both were still in tolerable numbers and I did not need to use the bug dope.
