Hike: Boundary Trail
Region: Mt. Rainier -- NW - Carbon River / Mowich
Agency: Mount Rainier National Park
Avg Rating: 3.00
roadside south of Fairfax bridge
Parked at the Carbon River entrance (1800')and hit the nature trail loop. At the far end there is an unmarked metal sign that marks this unmaintained trail that is in excellent shape. It winds back and forth near the park boundary and ends up at a 4400' saddle west of Florence Peak. Others have reported that there is an easy scramble route to Florence from the saddle. I made to the creek crossing at ~3000' and practiced using my night vision before getting back at 5PM. There was very little snow or ice on the trail.
I could hear the creek
