We completed an 11.1-mile loop on West Tiger: Start at High Point Trailhead parking lot. Take Bus Trail to Gas Line Trail to Poo Poo Point Trail to West Tiger RR Grade to Tiger Mountain Trail (TMT) back to High Point parking lot. It's easy to miss the left turn to stay on TMT, rather than ending up on High Point Trail. The trail actually heads back uphill, which is a bit counterintuitive. We missed the turn but realized our mistake when we reached the intersection with Dwight's Trail, so we backtracked 2/10 mile back up to make the correct turn.
Beware the long tall wooden bridge that crosses High Point Creek. It's a bit tilted and some of the uphill railings are split. I crossed very carefully and held onto the downhill rails but still took a nasty spill on the wet wood and pine needles. The 40-pound pack saved me from really walloping my knee. After crossing the bridge, we discovered a sign on the ground saying the bridge was closed.
It was quite a wet day, and parts of this loop are obviously not very well traveled, so be sure to wear gaiters. Not a tremendous amount of vertical (total 2000+') but a good long hike.
