Today was a beautiful day for a hike. We finally got a break in the rain and woke up to sunshine to start our hike. There were only a few cars in the parking area as we headed up the trail. The trail was clear until about half way up. We ran into snow at this point. I didn't have any traction devices but made it up to the lake just fine as the trail was pretty well packed down. I suppose yak trax would have been nice. The lake was still mostly frozen, rather slushy and covered with snow. On the way down we ran into lots of day hikers coming up the trail. This was my first hike after knee surgery so it felt good to get out into the beautiful mountains again.
