- Wildflowers blooming
I was hoping the hedgehock cactus was blooming at Whiskey Dick Wildlife Area since this year spring seemed to come early. I was not dissapointed. The dirt road was still closed (will be open on May 1). The car did not have the clearance any way to be driven on the first part of the really rough dirt road and I needed the exercise.
We hiked left on the dirt road on the 1st Y for a while, and went up to the 2901 ft peak. Lots of blooming hedgehock cactus flocks and other dessert flowers. It was a pretty hot day and glad for the wind.
We stopped at the Wild Horse Wind Farm on the way back.
