A very beautiful hike. Today has great weather.
I drove for 2 hours to reach the trail head from redmond, but it's worth it.

The trail is long but not steep. The Lake is very beautiful. A lot of waterfalls along the way.

Water on thr trail, but passable with normal hiking boots.
No toilet on the trail head,

Dog Mountain

South Cascades

Head to Dog Mountain for Columbia River Gorge views and an explosion of wildflowers. Eager to get in shape for summer? Head straight up the mountain on the northern side. Take the slow and steady eastern flank trail to stop and smell the flowers. (See if you can spot recent work by WTA trail crews.)
