With 60+% chance of rain, we thought we'll try to escape it by moving to a drier section of Highway 20. We had no rain -- we had hail showers and snow flakes between sections of warming sun shine.
Park at the TH, reasonably full but still slots in the parking lot. Started to head up the trail and meet many hikers coming down that looked miserable and were bundled up. I only wore a REI Polyester/Spandex undershirt for the entire hike and was quite comfortable (Is it my Nordic blood, my ancestors crossed the Atlantic in open boats remember?). Several light hail showers while going through the forest and when we hit the alpine level, we started to get light snow (not sticking) with large soft snowflakes.
Berries along trail, not many [even when you went far off trail --- so it looked like a bad year and not prior harvests by hikers]. Continued until the PCT intersected the Cutthroat Lake trail and then returned. Hikers passed included a hairy dachshund -- not the usual trail dog.
Weather was constantly changing, with a light wind. Coming and going included a stop at Cascade Farms's Latte stand in Marblemount (8AM to 8PM hours are nice).
