Finally went back to Mailbox for the first time this season thinking it would be pretty clear since Si is now snowfree. Well the trail was "pretty clear" but still had quite a bit of snow along the way. Trail was dry and clear until near the first clearing where the trail cuts left back into the woods. At that point almost everyone was heading to the right into the boulder field. Cloud cover was well above the summit and allowed for great views in all directions. Way down was a nice and quick jog and appreciated the new signage to prevent accidentally wandering to the right on the way down.
6am departure from the trailhead paid off with being 2nd to the top and first back to the cars. Near Si-like conga line formed on the way down and found both parking areas full at the bottom.
Despite such a nice and quick hike on a pleasant and mild morning it wasn't the same without my sweet. I miss her terribly and long for a returning with her soon. Maybe Friday?! Left her a note hoping we'd read it together soon.
