Be Aware Of
Cherry Creek Falls.
I used the information on this website to navigate on this trail.[…]/waterfall.php?st=WA&num=212 The trail was in good shape until the last 1/2 mile or so where there were many washouts (some of them seem man made) and small hills of loose dirt/rocks. The instructions on the website above will get you most of the way, but Hannan Creek no longer flows through culverts, it is a big washout. Instead of following the instructions, keep your eyes out for purple ribbons tied to trees which indicate the correct path.

There were mosquitos during the first 1/2 mile of the trail.

WARNING: When I returned to my car after being gone for a couple hours (I missed the turnoff to the falls and kept going for an additional mile) someone had broken out my window and taken a bag out of my car. It was in broad daylight (around noon) and my car was parked on the side of Cherry Valley Rd. :-(.
My broken car window :-(

Diablo Lake Trail (Apr 17)

Diablo Lake

North Cascades

Follow the Diablo Lake Trail up and across talus slopes on the flanks of Sourdough Mountain to impressive cascading waterfalls and stunning views. This hike in the North Cascades Institute's backyard makes a great option for an early season hike in stunning North Cascades National Park, much of which is inaccessible during the winter and spring.
