Paddled across Ozette Lake from Swan Bay to Allens Bay. The trail that connects Allens Bay to Norwegian Memorial appeared to be unmaintained: overgrown, dozens of blowdowns, and rotting boardwalk. Thanks to the dry weather, the mud wasn't too bad. Noticed some flagging, but the direction of the trail was obvious for the most part (i.e. the path of least resistance).

Upon reaching the end of the trail at Norwegian Memorial (at an "Unmaintained Route" sign) we occupied one of the nice camping spots and continued south along the beach. Found a trickle of a stream about half a mile south of our camp. Like on Ozette Lake, the water appeared to be tannin-rich, and I had to clean our water filter after filling each bottle. Turned back at the headland about a mile south.

Red Top Lookout

Snoqualmie Pass

Whether you're camping near Cle Elum or just want a prime picnic location for a short Saturday hike, you'll only have to climb a mile on this steep, easy-to-follow trail to get stunning views from a fire lookout (and cool alpine outhouse). It can be great for kids, but keep them close on the exposed summit.
