The Island Trail is located on the south end of Okanogan. It has been a senior project for Okanogan High School for the past several years. There are several loops and a few under development.
The students have done a great job of cleaning up and developing a nice community trail. About 3 miles long - edges a riparian area and the Okanogan River. Besides hiking and biking it has seen some cross country skiers this winter. The trail is popular for fishing, birding, wildlife and photography.
