Road to trailhead inaccessible
I was hoping to hike this trail on a very nice spring day with by kids, but it was a bit too early this season. About 1 mile after the fork up the hill, we encountered heavy snow on the road around first 90 degree turn. We decided to park it and walk the remaining 3 miles of road to see what it was like, and at first it was just patchy snow on the road and some blown down trees. At about 4 or 5 mile mark, the snow was about 1-2 feet deep on the road and we called it and headed back down since it was likely the trail to the peak was going to more the same and a bit too dangerous for us. We will revisit in August after the melt.
