I hiked the Baker River Trail out to Sulphide Creek/Camp. Camp spots are in good condition and there is a privy as well. This hike is absolutely beautiful with ancient Cedars and Douglas Fir along the way. The Baker River drainage is stunning and immense. Some small snow patches remain for the last 1/4 mi or so, but a non-issue. Please note that Baker River Trail #606 is in part a NO DOGS allowed hike and I was most displeased to see dog tracks all the way (no, it wasn't coyote or fox). Please respect the trail.
After returning to the junction with the Baker Lake Trail I followed the Baker Lake Trail out/down to Noisy Creek. I was blown away by the number of old growth trees on this section of the trail. There are cascades everywhere (this time of year), and the trail and trees were magically moss carpeted. At times I felt I had been transported to either the Big or Little Beaver drainage, or any one of the old growth drainage's in ONP. You definitely get a wilderness feel on these two relatively accessible hikes. Cheers!
