We hiked from Grouse Creek Vista trailhead west on Tarbell Trail to Larch Mtn. The trail was >90% snow-covered (6-8' deep), though it was easy walking. The views to the south (Mt Hood) and the north (Mt St Helens) were wonderful, as the sky was totally clear. From the jeep road west of the top of Larch Mtn (marked by the cell phone towers), you have a wonderful, 90% view of the Columbia valley.
