Beautiful hike but come prepared if hiking in early Spring. Encountered snow at the 3500ft level which made the trail treacherous to navigate in certain spots. The trail begins at 2100ft and ends at 4500ft. Elevation gain is at a steady pace but will be a challenge for those who prefer a leisurely hike! After approx 4 hours of anticipation, the reward at the top was well worth the effort. The cliffs surrounding the lake were snow covered and the lake still frozen. Trekking poles and gaiters were definitely helpful...and a lot of water to hydrate often. Total hiking time roundtrip was 6-7 hours depending on your level of skill.
