Today we took up the trailhead from the 92nd Street Park. There is plenty of parking here, 2 playgrounds, a picnic area, open space, and toilets.

The trail from this side was in much better condition than our previous hike from the Library side. There was minimal water over the trail and a blowdown that was easily crossable (even for little ones).

We hiked for about 1/2-2/3 mile until the trail from the Park side met up with the trails from the Library side and Hotel side. We turned around here and went back the way we came.

This is a fantastic urban hike for young kids. There is a little bit of elevation gain/loss as you descend and travel back up into the Gulch, but nothing terribly strenuous.

Red Top Lookout (Jun 13)

Red Top Lookout

Snoqualmie Pass

Whether you're camping near Cle Elum or just want a prime picnic location for a short Saturday hike, you'll only have to climb a mile on this steep, easy-to-follow trail to get stunning views from a fire lookout (and cool alpine outhouse). It can be great for kids, but keep them close on the exposed summit.
