It was a warm and sunny Monday, so I was itching to get up to Heybrook Lookout to take in the surrounding peaks while they were still snowcapped.
I got to the trailhead a little after 3 p.m. Blazed up the trail pretty quickly, encountering only a party of two on their way down. No issues on the trail except for a little mud and downed tree or two, but they were easy to get around.
One other pair of hikers was at the lookout when I arrived. What a panorama to behold: Heybrook Ridge, Baring Mountain, Palmer Mountain, and Mt. Index. Bridal Veil Falls was visible near the base of Index.
I saw one other couple on the way down. Got back to the car at 4:50 p.m. It was quite a pleasant spring warm-up.
