- Why You Should Go Now
- Wildflowers blooming
Flowers are blooming, though I expect them to be even better in a week or two. The buttercups and other early spring flowers are everywhere while camas and its cohorts are just starting out. In addition, we encountered both a garter snake and a salamander right on the trail.
We walked the entire trail on a dry, cloudy day and saw only a few other people. The noise from the gun range is hard to avoid on the paved trail but it disappears once you start heading down the unpaved loop. Although this isn't the most exciting hike in Washington, the unique geography is well worth the 2-3 hours it takes to explore.
