This is a great hike but unfortunately we did not make it all the way to the lake because my friend was wearing sneakers and once we ran into snow we decided to turn around. I was wearing boots and had no problem at all but then you don't want your friends to fall down some rock. The trail is quite rocky with lots of water everywhere but other parts are really nicely maintained. Definitely wear boots but if you do you should be ok. I reckon we were maybe half a mile or so form the lake when the snow started but it's definitely doable if you wear the right shoes and maybe use poles as well. The old growth forest is beautiful and once the fog cleared so were the views along the trail, I'll definitely be back here soon!
