Snow on trail
The bus turnaround was easy to find, but I missed the turnoff for the main trail on my way up so I took the logging road the whole way. There was quite a bit of snow starting around 2900ft. Luckily there were tracks to follow at the top of the logging road which took me across the ridge and to the summit. Sadly no views today.
I took the main trail on the way down and got to see the falls which were amazing.

Didn't see anyone else on the logging road which was great.

I just had hiking boots - no microspikes or snowshoes and didn't have any problems.

Dog Mountain (May 23)

Dog Mountain

South Cascades

Head to Dog Mountain for Columbia River Gorge views and an explosion of wildflowers. Eager to get in shape for summer? Head straight up the mountain on the northern side. Take the slow and steady eastern flank trail to stop and smell the flowers. (See if you can spot recent work by WTA trail crews.)
