Day hike
We took a day hike up through waterworks canyon on Sunday. The weather was beautiful, it was about 70 degrees, but felt hotter than that. The wildflowers are blooming, and the creek that runs down the canyon is full. Either bring lots of water, or bring a filtration/water purifying system. We found we had not brought enough water for 3 miles in, and 3 miles out. Keep in mind this creek will dry up as the hotter weather arrives, but there is currently plenty of water throughout the hike. Wear sturdy shoes, there are alot of loose rocks on the trail,

This hike is a moderate incline. We hiked 3 miles up, and did not reach the top. I am not sure how many more miles to the top, but 3 miles of moderate incline was enough for me, especially considering it was our first hike of the year.

About 2.5 miles in, just after the you pass through a grove of Aspen trees, the creek disappears underground, and re-emerges at the 3 mile mark.

This trail is dog friendly, we saw a couple of other hikers, both with dogs.
