Why You Should Go Now
Wildflowers blooming
Boulders & Mt Cleman, Cowiche Mtn Photo (c) David Hagen
I hiked up Cowiche Mtn this afternoon from the Rocky Top trailhead. My plan was to take late-in-the-day photos of Mt Cleman with wildflowers &/or boulders in the foreground. The flowers became very nice about half way up, especially the balsamroot, lupine, & buckwheat, but the wind was howling so photography was out. Once on top the wind died down a little & I got a couple of photos and met up with a group of Cascadians who had come up from the Snow Mtn Ranch trailhead to watch the full moon rise. As per our plan, I walked down with them & got a ride back to my truck.

What a BEAUTIFUL area! We hiked this area for the fist time on Friday and will return again! Is the large beautiful flowering tree near a wood duck box on the Riparian Trail-East a cherry tree? I thought you might know since you are active in the Cowiche Canyon Conservancy. We enjoyed the area so much that we sent sent money to support the group. Happy hiking! We enjoy your reports! :)!
