WARNING: DO NOT PARK ON THE ROADSIDE BEYOND THE TRAIL PARKING AREA WHERE IT SAYS "NO PARKING RESIDENTS ONLY"!! We got there today around 10AM and the parking lot was full. Some people parked on the roadside before reaching the lot but that was quickly filled up. Many ended up parking next to a house. It was beyond a red "no parking/residents only" sign, but I guess that sign basically means you can't anywhere along the strip of houses. As my friend parked his car (he parked way further east), he walked by one of the house owners who said he was going to "get these cars ticketed or towed."
We finished the hike around 1-2PM and just as we came down, saw the sheriff's car. The sheriff scolded two hikers who just back to their car about "not reading the no parking sign" and said that he's called the tow truck. Moments later, the tow truck showed up. We left before any actual towing would've happened, but if it did happen I'm sure it would be damn awful to the hikers who came down later. This is a pretty unfortunate thing --- there's really no extra spillover parking area at all nearby, unlike many other I-90 trails. Either some extra parking area has to be constructed, some no parking signs have to be retracted, or they simply have to let only 10-15 hikers hike this trail at a time :(
