A gorgeous hike and beach walk when the tide is out, as it was today. There are several very muddy spots on the trails right now - hiking boots come in handy, though any shoe you don't mind getting soaked in mud will work. The main trailhead for the Ellis Cove Trail is now accessible from the sidewalk a short walk North from the parking area on the West side of East Bay Drive (the trailhead was relocated after severe storm damage a couple years ago). The parking lot was almost full, but the trails were not crowded - most folks are there to use the playground and picnic shelters.
