The Chute
This trip was no joke. The lower trail head was not accessable by car so we parked and hiked about 1 mile to start up the mountain at about 7 am. The chute was very solid. Snowshoes were not needed. After the climb up to the bowl and then the summit we tried gissading for the first time. It was fun but you really need to know what you are doing before you attempt this. We made it to the summit by 1015. The rest of the trip down was easy going but the snow started to soften. All in all it was a challenging trek but one that was really worth it.

Red Top Lookout

Snoqualmie Pass

Whether you're camping near Cle Elum or just want a prime picnic location for a short Saturday hike, you'll only have to climb a mile on this steep, easy-to-follow trail to get stunning views from a fire lookout (and cool alpine outhouse). It can be great for kids, but keep them close on the exposed summit.
