A group of us from the Snoqualmie Valley Trails Club had a superb hike up Iron Bear Peak yesterday. There was a lot less snow than the previous trip report this year, with now no need for traction devices. While there is still some snow, high up, it's easily walked or avoided. There is still one place, near the trailhead, on the road approach, where higher vehicle clearance is necessary, but it was well within what Outbacks and CRVs could manage. As the Mountaineers guidebook attests, this is a superb hike at a time when a lot of the Teanaway peaks are still snowbound and it is also an incredible flower hike; I'm still working on flower ID.
