Water on trail
My dog was still white early in the trip; not so much after the mudholes near the terminus.
Light rain today, and the trail was exceptionally muddy. My white dog looked more like a black lab when we got back to the car! There was a fair amount of water on the tail, so a sturdy set of water-resistant hiking boots is in order.

At some points of the trail you have to traverse a series of downed logs. These were sometimes quite slippery, and in one case there is a bit of a drop-off if you fall towards the river. Take caution!

The falls were magnificent.
The unnamed falls were really roaring; quite a sight.

Red Top Lookout

Snoqualmie Pass

Whether you're camping near Cle Elum or just want a prime picnic location for a short Saturday hike, you'll only have to climb a mile on this steep, easy-to-follow trail to get stunning views from a fire lookout (and cool alpine outhouse). It can be great for kids, but keep them close on the exposed summit.
