Snow on trail
Heather Lake is beautiful even on a drizzly day!
Started at 9:25 a.m. A bit damp with sprinkles. The trail was very wet. Plan on wet feet. Highly recommend wool socks! Beautiful surroundings! Once you hit the snow, which was about 1/4 of a mile from the lake, the trail basically disappears. Though it was fun to adventure through the snow and reach the lake, I don't advise it unless you are prepared. The snow will just cave in. When you reach the lake you can walk the wood bridges to the right for a bit and get great scenic shots. No bugs! Great friends! Amazing views! Tried finding the trail from the lake to hike back, even then we got lost. A little sketchy on keeping on the trail. More snow here than Lake Serene last week or Lake 22. Have fun!

Red Top Lookout (Jun 13)

Red Top Lookout

Snoqualmie Pass

Whether you're camping near Cle Elum or just want a prime picnic location for a short Saturday hike, you'll only have to climb a mile on this steep, easy-to-follow trail to get stunning views from a fire lookout (and cool alpine outhouse). It can be great for kids, but keep them close on the exposed summit.
