Be Aware Of
Bridge out
Water on trail
Snow on trail
The trail was quite wet. After crossing several small steams and gaining several hundred feet, the trail crossed raging Bear Creek. The crossing would have been dangerous (bridge out?) so we bushwhacked about 1/3 mile on NE side of creek until the trail crossed back across the Bear Creek. From here we followed the trail thru a meadow with many skunk cabbage, marsh marigold and bluebell. The trail branches off to the left from an old road. We reached snow at 4200 feet, and used ice axes to ascend to a saddle east of the summit, and followed the ridge to the summit. Rain a good share of the day.

Red Top Lookout

Snoqualmie Pass

Whether you're camping near Cle Elum or just want a prime picnic location for a short Saturday hike, you'll only have to climb a mile on this steep, easy-to-follow trail to get stunning views from a fire lookout (and cool alpine outhouse). It can be great for kids, but keep them close on the exposed summit.
