Part of the last 1mi rock trail to the falls. Alot of this on the new trail.
Nice hike on a somewhat overcast day. This hike can be divided into 3 sections. The first mile is an easy walk from the parking area up Teneriffe Rd (dirt road) till you hit the trail turnoff, from here it is another mile along a more narrow trail that leads to an old overgrown logging road. At mile 2 you hit a sign that says Teneriffe Falls, this is the beginning of the new trail. From the new trail its a 1mi climb with about 20 switch backs, some short some long along a new rock trail. Be prepared with hiking shoes that can handle walking upon rocks/boulders etc. This last mile is uphill but not too difficult other than slogging thru the boulder fields. Not much in the way of flowers blooming other than foxglove. The falls were at full force Upper/Lower. From the upper falls you can continue another 2500ft to the top of Mt Teneriffe but the trail is no longer maintained as the first 3mi were but there is a goat trail scramble to the top. Ran into many groups coming down as well as a group of small children as well. Other than the 1 mile rock scramble hike, its a pretty easy to moderate trail but be very careful along the lower/upper falls.
Lower falls
Upper falls, gorgeous!
view along the trail looking East towards Mailbox Peak, Snoqualmie Pass etc.

Red Top Lookout

Snoqualmie Pass

Whether you're camping near Cle Elum or just want a prime picnic location for a short Saturday hike, you'll only have to climb a mile on this steep, easy-to-follow trail to get stunning views from a fire lookout (and cool alpine outhouse). It can be great for kids, but keep them close on the exposed summit.
