Panorama shot from the top before the clouds moved in
Muddy in spots, especially the middle third, a bit difficult to follow the trail (though if you find you're walking in less mud, you may have missed a turn in the trail). Mostly clear day, though a cloud moved over the top while I was there.

Most of the trail is fairly dark due to the canopy, when you start seeing sun again you know you're near the top. Also a bit chilly; I could see my breath at times, though the intensity of the hike kept it from being cold.

The steepness on the way down hill can really get away from you if you don't watch every step. Hiking poles strongly recommended!

Red Top Lookout

Snoqualmie Pass

Whether you're camping near Cle Elum or just want a prime picnic location for a short Saturday hike, you'll only have to climb a mile on this steep, easy-to-follow trail to get stunning views from a fire lookout (and cool alpine outhouse). It can be great for kids, but keep them close on the exposed summit.
