Sherman and Snow Mountains
I hiked to Jungle Hill from Sherman Pass and not the Jungle Hill Trail head. This route is shorter and with less elevation. From Sherman Pass head north on the Kettle Crest Trail (#13) for about 4 miles. There is no trail to the top but it is easy to find a route up on the south side. The trail has been cleared and is in great shape.
Flowers are just starting to bloom and the views are great.
Ran into twelve people on the trail (that is about as many as I have ever seen on a week day) plus a youth trail crew from the PNTA doing tread work.
As always the Kettles are a great place for quiet and solitude.

Lewis River Trail (Apr 10)

Lewis River Trail

South Cascades

We're at the cusp of waterfall season! With five waterfalls in a 7-mile roundtrip, this Lewis River hike is one to keep on your April-June to-do list. If you're hiking with creaky knees or kiddos, take in the magnificent, close-in Lower Lewis River Falls. If you want a longer hike with some ups and downs, venture all the way to Taidnapum Falls, 3.5 miles in.
