Originally planned to hike the Chirico Trail but due to a late start by the time I got there, the parking lot was full. Since parking along the I-H road is no longer permitted I decided to drive over to High Point and come in the other, longer way.
Plenty of parking at the TH on this sunny post holiday early afternoon. Decided to take the Bus Trail then follow the power lines to the juncture of the Section Line, High School and Poo Poo Point trails. It's a pleasant although increasingly steep hike up through the re-growth until reaching Many Creeks Valley. Here we encountered some minor wet spots and some fairly impressive mud holes although nothing that can't be navigated easily.
From here on there are some very narrow, overgrown areas and occasional patches of mud especially after the junction with the West Tiger RR Grade trail but, generally no problems.
Enjoyed watching the Paragliders and relaxing in the sunshine until it was time for us to make our way down and back to the trailhead. Encountered a fair number of leashed and mainly well behaved dogs on the trail. Nice afternoon!
