Coooooold lake! And busy too. Went up for a friends birthday party in the woods. All campsites on the lake were taken, so we all ended up camping down on Lake Evans. Saturday we just played around camp and a little bit of inflatable boat action on the little lake. But Sunday it was just too darn hot not to go and swim in Boardman. Man was is cold. Sure felt good though. There is a nice little cove with a sweet rock to dive off of. After the boats were inflated, we decided to row across and play on the remaining snow on the far side of the lake. Once our snowball fight fix was finished, we decided to fill one of the boats with snow to share with our crew back on the other side. Man was that fun, snowball fight, in the water, in July.

Dog Mountain (May 23)

Dog Mountain

South Cascades

Head to Dog Mountain for Columbia River Gorge views and an explosion of wildflowers. Eager to get in shape for summer? Head straight up the mountain on the northern side. Take the slow and steady eastern flank trail to stop and smell the flowers. (See if you can spot recent work by WTA trail crews.)
