Bugs
I managed to get through the remaining snow blocking the road with my jeep. I think the road will be clear by tomorrow. There's still significant snow on the trail however. I actually ended up losing the trail and had to turn around.

What's with the bees on this trail being so aggressive? They always like to hover around me no matter what time of year it is or what I'm wearing or what I smell like. That doesn't really happen to me on other trails.

Edit: The snow is still a problem as of 6/19/2012

Dog Mountain

South Cascades

Head to Dog Mountain for Columbia River Gorge views and an explosion of wildflowers. Eager to get in shape for summer? Head straight up the mountain on the northern side. Take the slow and steady eastern flank trail to stop and smell the flowers. (See if you can spot recent work by WTA trail crews.)
