Snow on trail
Trail was in decent shape for the most part. It was a bit overgrown, especially in the first mile or so. The trail was obscure in a few areas, but there were plenty of trail markers to keep you on course. There is a large tree down that crosses the switchbacks a couple times. Not too difficult to get over.

There is a small snow field around three miles to cross, but again, there are trail markers to keep you headed in the right direction. A little ways on, just past a lovely view of the Olympics, is where the snow really took over. It was deep, but easy to walk on. I was able to go maybe a quarter to half a mile through the snow field before the trail markers vanished. Having never done this trail before I was forced to turn back at this point.

Red Top Lookout

Snoqualmie Pass

Whether you're camping near Cle Elum or just want a prime picnic location for a short Saturday hike, you'll only have to climb a mile on this steep, easy-to-follow trail to get stunning views from a fire lookout (and cool alpine outhouse). It can be great for kids, but keep them close on the exposed summit.
