This is a return trip for me to Beckler Peak, the first time was in May but there was too much snow to even make it to the trailhead. This time was perfect, even the weather stayed clear. The trail was very well maintained, and very easy to walk on for the kids, no jagged rocks. Only once you get a few 100' towards the top it gets a bit rocky, but not bad at all. We were the first ones there at 11:30am on a Friday and alone for quite a while until around 4:15pm after making our descent from the peak (only 3 groups over hikers the whole day), we took the trail very slow going up, but cruised down in 1.5 hours. This trail is deep in the mountains, but not far from the HWY 2; a real hidden gem, probably one of my favorites given how well balanced this hike offers; good for kids, perfect hike distance, and spectacular views. Once you get past some of the switchbacks into a very lush foliage area, we had problems with mosquitos, but it was really during a short distance and there were no bugs most of the time, even at the top was great.
