Why You Should Go Now
Ripe berries
We arrived at 8:45 to beat the crowds; the lot was practically empty. By 1 when we completed our trip to Upper Falls and back, people were waiting for spaces.
Nice overcast day, a welcome reprieve from near-record heat in Seattle over the past few weeks. Peaceful going up, converting to pretty crowded on the way down. Fog at Upper Falls made the falls hard to see, but good lighting for shots of the lower and middle falls.
Family outing (5 kids ages 8-11, 5 parents) and all had a good time with photography and hiking. 3 very active chipmunks begging at Lower Falls -- DO NOT FEED THEM.
Huckleberries and blackberries are becoming ripe.
