Indian Pipe spotted on the Greg Ball trail!
Gotta love Monday hikes! Got to the trailhead about 11 am. There were probably fewer than 10 cars in the parking lot. Followed the Woody Trail, taking the Greg Ball trail up to Lake Wallace and then back to Woody as far as Middle Falls and back to the trailhead. It was a great time of the year for seeing wildlife. Saw a Robin's nest chirping with baby birds, three slugs, a really cute squirrel (it made hilarious chortling noises), woodpeckers, a snake, and tons of fungus (including Indian Pipes on the way to the lake!). Other than the few annoying bugs - one which met its destiny sliding down my throat...definitely not by choice for either of us - it was a really great hike! I was huffing and puffing at times, but the trail is really well-marked for the level of hiking difficulty. You should go hike it. ;)

Red Top Lookout

Snoqualmie Pass

Whether you're camping near Cle Elum or just want a prime picnic location for a short Saturday hike, you'll only have to climb a mile on this steep, easy-to-follow trail to get stunning views from a fire lookout (and cool alpine outhouse). It can be great for kids, but keep them close on the exposed summit.
