- Fall foliage
The day started out mostly cloudy, and at 9:30 am there were just a few cars in the parking lot. The trail was a little bit slippery from previous rain, but otherwise in good condition. After helping build a turnpike yesterday, I had a newfound appreciation for the turnpikes and other trailwork that kept the path relatively dry and in good shape. There was some company along the way, but more people had arrived as we finished the hike at 12:30 pm. Fall leaves covered the trail in the first mile. The day became sunnier as the early afternoon arrived, accentuating the beautiful fall colors. At the top, we could see the fresh snowfall at the top of Mount Si.
